“This prospective cohort study evaluated structured video call follow-ups among 180 metastatic cancer patients at Chulabhorn Hospital post-discharge. Of these, 47 patients (26.1%) experienced unplanned readmission within 28 days. Key predictors were a distress score ≥4 (adjusted OR 3.76, 95% CI 1.61 to 8.78) and prior unplanned readmission within 30 days (adjusted OR 11.13, 95% CI 4.38 to 28.27). Although video calls supported patient assessment and self-care, they were insufficient alone to prevent readmission in high-risk cases. Targeted, multidisciplinary interventions remain essential for this patient population.”
